MIS is an international school with an international curriculum. Therefor our school is open to students who fill certain criteria.
School fees for the 2024-2025 Academic Year:
PYP: 50,000 SEK per school year (25,000 per term)
MYP: 60,000 SEK per school year (30,000 per term)
School fees include all learning materials, daily lunch and snacks, and excursions.
After School Activities: Fritids
Families may register students up to age 12 to participate in Fritids, which is invoiced separately through Västerås Stad. You can find out more here.
Admissions Criteria
MISV is an international school with an international curriculum. Therefore our school is open to students who meet certain criteria. The student must meet at least one (1) of the following criteria.
moving to Västerås from abroad, and staying here for a limited time.
who have attended an English speaking International School abroad for a major part of their education and therefore have a reason to fulfill his/her education in an International School.
who, in the near future, will continue their education in an International School abroad.
i.e. speak it, on a daily basis, with one or both guardians and who has sufficient knowledge of the English language to follow and participate in the teaching and learning.

If there is a long waiting list we will prioritize according to the criteria for admission set by the Swedish Ministry of Education in the Education Act Chapter 24 §4:
1. Date of application.
2. Siblings to students already enrolled at MISV.
3. Students living in or moving to Västerås.
Note: According to the Swedish Educational Act, students with significant learning challenges are entitled to an education that meets their needs at a special school (anpassad grundskola). If you have questions about whether your child is eligible to attend MISV, please reach out to us.
Please note that if your situation changes from the admission requirements, or if you withhold or provide inaccurate information, your child may lose his/her place at MISV.
Admissions for PYP 1:
Please note that students enrolling in PYP 1 (ages 5-6) will participate in 3 trial days before admission is finalized. During the trial days, teachers and staff will observe for the following indicators of school-readiness:
1. The student is able to use the toilet completely independently.
2. The student is able to participate in learning with the class.
3. The student is able to transition between learning environments with the class. This includes putting on and taking off shoes and outdoor clothes with minimal assistance.
